Lovely Edwin Ellis oil quite typical of his work in both subject and style. Fishermen in a rowing boat haul in the nets (salmon our guess) under Flamborough's chalk cliffs. Beautiful, fresh colours of the sea: white water around the boat the retreating foam from waves that have crashed against the cliff, but the sea is fairly calm with a gently rolling swell and just a few white horses. Signed, lower right.
