One of the main Northern artists to have been involved in depicting the Highlands, Train's love of that area came about after an early trip to the Hebrides. We believe this one stem from that influence and shows The Five Sisters Of Kintail (not quite onto Skye!). Painted in oils, it is under glass over a slip and framed in a beautiful double swept. It is signed and dated 1855 in red - a common practice with the artist. This is one of a pair with the previous painting.
