'Schiehallion' is a prominent mountain in Perth and Kinross, Scotland, situated between the lochs Tay, Rannoch and Tummel. A favourite haunt for walkers in more recent times such that the paths had to be substantially repaired in 2001. It is also a unique place in scientific history for an 18th Century experiment for 'weighing the World'. This very substantial watercolour of a busy scene in Victorian times has been carefully cleaned and conserved for future generations.
