An exceptional and most imposing offering of the finest museum quality and of historical interest. The painting is dated to the year the bridge was built over Dean Street. This was the link from the Newcastle central Station that opened up the East Coast line to Scotland.
It is possible that the painting was executed for exhibition or for reproduction as a celebratory lithograph though, at this point, that is just an educated assumption.
Conservator cleaned and laid on acid free backing and beautifully framed in a Frinton handmade moulding.
Without doubt the biggest, best and most important Edward Richardson we have ever offered.
