In the parish of Culfreighton, townland of Cross, North Antrim, a cow (shorthorn dairy?) chews the cud in morning sunshine by the cottages of Coolanlough clachan, Fair Head, The rubble and stone built cottages roofed with Bangor blue slate and corrugated iron, a hint of green in the whitewashed walls suggestive of moss - not enough cow dung mixed into the whitewash! A scene not much changed today but this probably mid-century, Francey Lamont, then resident in the far cottage.
