Fishermen haul their boat onto the rocks beneath the basalt outcrop atop which sits the ruins of the medieval Dunluce Castle, County Antrim, the once stronghold of the MacDonnnell clan. An unusual view from the western side looking east, the castle ruins more commonly painted from the east looking towards Portrush. Signed, lower right and signed, titled and dated,1880, verso.
