A rare Kanneman's watercolour of the barque Graaf Dirk III at anchor in 1851 at Dordrecht harbour in front of the tower of the Grote Kerk (Church of Our Lady). Thought to be a general cargo barque, the 565 tonne Graaf Dirk III sailed to Australia on a least one occasion: an Adelaide newspaper recorded its arrival from London in September 1854 following a three month voyage carrying around 20 passengers (emigrants). Cleaned and conserved.
