Immediately recognisable by the translucent water below the boat's keel - almost a hallmark. C.N.H. loved all things sea and fishing, even owning a boat,'Vandervelde', which he used as a floating studio when in Falmouth. Elected RA and RWS, many regard him as the best of his era. Gorgeously framed in a Frinton 'chippendale' frame and bearing the original title and signature retrieved from the original backing board. Now cleaned and backed onto acid-free paper. A wonderful item for any collector. This painting has been acquired from a private family where it had been owned for very many years.
