Charles Hunt (Jnr) (1829-1900)
Charles Hunt Junior was born in London, son of the genre painter Charles Hunt (1803-77). Influenced by his father he too painted genre scenes, typically people in cottage interiors, often with animals. Father of Edgar Hunt (1876-1955) and Walter Hunt (1861-1941), both were taught and influenced by Charles and also became successful artists (animals/genre). Charles Hunt paintings can viewed in the collections of the National Maritime Museum, Ferens Art Gallery and the Museum of the Home.
