A sweet little watercolour of young woman deep in thought while reading a letter. She sits on a window seat in a simply furnished room, knitting set down for now, suggesting perhaps she is a maid on her break. Lovely treatment of the light and the mullion window. Unsigned but undoubtedly the skilled hand of Carlton Smith.
