Carlton Alfred Smith (1853-1946)
Carlton Alfred Smith was a genre painter and watercolourist. He frequently painted cottage interiors that conveyed a romantic image of domestic life at the end of the 19th Century. Smith exhibited mostly at Suffolk Street but also at The New Watercolour Society and the Royal Academy. Carlton Alfred Smith was an artist renowned for his exceptionally fine watercolours which are always sought after; to £24,000.
