Alfred Vickers (Senior) (1786-1868)
Alfred Vickers Snr was a self-taught landscape painter. He exhibited at the RA (125 works) and elsewhere. He painted views often with river scenes in a rapid, sketchy style using a range of pale greens which are distinctive. His son Alfred Gomersal Vickers was also a painter.
