The scene depicted in this very fine and powerful Breanski Snr painting is the Valley of the Teith. This valley flows in the region of Callander and Doune. A very similar example, and of the same size, was sold by Christie's on 17th November 2010. (Hammer price GBP 15,000). Please note that the reverse of this painting shows a repair, but to retain the originality and the artist's writing on the back, it has not been relined. A future owner may wish to have this done.
