A superb de Breanski, one of two recent arrivals (the other, 'Morning, Dunkeld Valley) both in original condition and in matching period swept frames. A trademark Breanski Senior scene of complex evening light with the mountain top aglow in the warm light, ribbons of cloud catching the setting sunlight, hazy far valleys, and a foreground dim with the colder light of the approaching dusk. A fisherman and ghillie pause for a moment on their return from fishing, the climb up from the river steep and difficult no doubt through the bracken. Annotated by the artist verso NB (North Britain) on this occasion Breanski hasn't given a precise location but we think it is possibly in the Trossachs. A wonderful painting!

NB Presented here in original condition but the painting does require a light clean, which is included in the price and post-lockdown can be completed before Christmas.
