A.D.Bell's watercolours were painted under two other pseudonyms for the dealer Arthur Joseph, namely Horace Hammond and J.Barclay. Under the name of Bell he produced confident coastal views obviously aimed at the quality tourist market and under the pseudonyms subjects ranged from rural and farming landscapes to English hunt scenes.
