An excellent Rowbotham Snr. that at first glance could be mistaken for a Richardson Jnr. both in style and subject. It is almost as if the two artists worked in tandem! Cleaned and de-acidified and wonderfully fresh. It was sold from the Tomlinson collection at Chrisie's in 1943 and obtained by the last owner about 30 years ago together with another by this artist and several Richardsons which are also listed.
