A very recognisable palette. The titling to the scene was uncovered beneath brown paper on the stretcher piece. Not sure of the identity of the distant peaks - Snowdonia or the Brecon Beacons perhaps. This is an interesting departure in subject matter for Walter J Watson who is one of our favourites from this large family of artists. Signed lower left and in a handmade reverse frame.
