Previously listed as George, the father of Mary, on further advice from an expert on this particular family of artists, this painting is now confirmed as being by Mary Weatherill'. There appears to be an initial 'M', further confirming Mary Weatherill. A charming and extensive birds-eye view of Whitby. It has traces of the signature and a very clear date to the bottom left in the darker gum arabic area of the painting.
