Garstin Cox (1892-1933)

A landscape and coastal artist, Garstin Cox was born in Cambourne in Cornwall, the son of William Cox, also an artist. He studied at the Cambourne Art School, and also at the Newlyn and St Ives Colonies, mainly under James Noble Barlow. Garstin Cox exhibited at the Royal Academy from the age of 19, and at the Royal West of England Academy. He was elected ARWA in 1925 and became a member of the Newlyn Society of Artists in 1925. Garstin Cox lived and worked in Cambourne, Cornwall, before his early death at the age of 41.
