Herberte's works are not common and in his lifetime he rarely exhibited, painting mainly for clients and estates. His paintings are often to be found in pairs and also in groups of three or four. The label is that of James Bourlet & Sons and can be found on works by Alma Tadema, National Portrait Gallery items and the Royal Collection among others.
